Call for Short Courses

Thank you for submitting all the proposals for Short Courses. The proposers will be notified on 5 November 2018.

We welcome the submission of proposals for Short Courses at EuCAP 2019. Short Courses are intended to provide a focused presentation of a scientific and/or application topic by one or very few high level experts, within the areas of research of the antennas and propagation community.

Short courses can be of two types:

• Advanced: for a specialised audience of researchers already having a good basic knowledge of the field. A time slot may be reserved at the end of the course to allow a deep discussion between the participants and the speakers
• Tutorial: for an audience that has no special pre-existing knowledge of the topic and is interested in grasping the essentials of the state of the art technology, challenges and perspectives. Such short courses may be of interest for engineers and for young or even experienced researchers

The proposals must be submitted using the template available. They can involve 1 or 2 proposers and must be submitted by 28 September 2018 via email to eucap2019@mazurkas.pl. All proposals will be subject to review by the Short Courses Chairs. The receipt of proposals will be acknowledged via email. The acceptance notification is expected to be provided on 5 November 2018. It will be based on multiple criteria, such as (non-exhaustively) the coverage of EuCAP scientific areas, the relevance and topical character of the subject and the size of the expected audience.

Short Courses will be a half-day in length (3 hours of the course plus a break). The proposer must be aware that an accepted short course will be cancelled if less than 5 participants have registered at the deadline. In this respect, speakers are encouraged to publicise the short course through their own networks and dissemination channels.

Instructors of accepted and non-cancelled short courses will be expected to provide a set of presentation slides to the EuCAP 2019 local organising committee in advance.
